Snowboard Boards
Obviously, Snowboard Boards are the most important piece of equipment. However, a board on its own isn’t much good. You need Snowboard Bindings, Snowboard Boots, Snowboard pants, jackets and shirts. Then comes the goggles, helmets, beanies and whatever else you choose to wear. Snowboarding is fairly flexible; you see people wearing all different sorts of outfits, and as a result you can get away with not having certain items. For example, I have done snowboarding without any goggles, but having a beanie and scarf makes a huge difference. There is nothing worse than hurtling down a mountain in the freezing wind.
Your nose soon gets very cold and sore, and you wish that you had spent the extra hundred dollars to keep warm! Snowboarding has to be one of the best sports, but it’s uncomfortable if you don’t have the right equipment. Snowboard Boards should come up to somewhere in between your chin and nose. If you are growing you can get one that’s a bit taller, but don’t go anything too extreme. This helps to ensure you are able to balance, turn and basically ride without any dramas. Snowboarding Boards vary considerably in terms of how soft they are. What I mean by this is that some boards have very little flex across them, whilst others you can bend considerably. The heavier that you are the less flexible you need the board and likewise the lighter that you are the springier you want the board to be.
You can get Snowboard Boards in all sorts of colors and in different brands, but the build quality and design is usually the most important. Snowboard Boards are designed with a sheet of steel that runs through the middle of the board. This helps to keep it sharp, and ensures that the board stays rigid and strong enough as you hurtle down a hill. To be totally honest I was very surprised at how much these boards flex up and down. You can physically feel the board bending from foot to foot as you go over different sized bumps. This is important to ensure that you don’t ever dig in or fall off just from a little difference in terrain!
When looking at Snowboard Boards, you want to consider what the board is going to be used for. There are 3 general types of snowboarders, and you will fall under one of these categories. The first is freestyle riding, which involves carving, jumping, doing tricks and basically everything that you can do with snowboards. The next is a technical rider who does mainly tricks. The last rider is an Alpine Carver, who loves to carve and hit high speeds.
At some stage you have to decide whether or not you are going to hire or buy snowboarding gear. Both of these options have their own advantages and disadvantages, and basically it comes down to a monetary thing in the end. If you are going to do this more than once then buying can be a good idea. However, if you have never done it before and you have no idea whether or not you like the sport then hiring equipment is also a good idea. In terms of clothing, generally the further away from the mountain you buy it the cheaper it will be. This even applies to boards, bindings and boots to an extent. If you have never looked online either then you are probably missing out on a lot of deals. Buying Snowboards on EBay is a great decision as you can get some great deals for a cheap price. Likewise, clothing like Snowboarding Coats are quite cheap online as well.
Like every sport there are a number of people who decide that they don’t like it after a few tries and they sell all of their equipment at half the price. You can pick up practically new equipment like described for a big discount which is well worth it. Snowboard Boards tend to be a way of expressing yourself; which is why so many people have bright, branded up boards. You can purchase your own Snowboard Logos once you have a board, or you can get the board that you like in the first place.
There is a lot of choice when it comes to Snowboarding Boards, and with a bit of thorough research you will find something that is not only comfortable, great looking but also that suits your budget. Don’t overspend unless you absolutely have to, but enjoy this great sport!
